Bald Eagle Calling Portrait

After a flurry of feeding, the Eagles settled down on perches, and many allowed us to get really close, as they usually do during my Eagles Galore Workshops in Alaska.

The key to getting a close-up portrait of an Eagle calling is patience; wait, and they will call!

ki-ki-ki-ki-ki-ki-ker! An Eagle calling is like no other sound in nature; it always induces goosebumps and is instantly recognizable.

Wood Duck Horizontal Portrait

Here’s another Wood Duck Portrait from my Best of Bosque workshop last December. Wood Ducks are high on most bird photographers’ want lists and we usually have plenty of great opportunities to fill memory cards full of images of them during my Best of Bosque workshop. Thank you again for an amazing week of owls.  I came home with some of my favourite images of all time.  I was very impressed with many things throughout the week.  Most notably, your concern for our groups’ comfort, your knowledge of the owls we were there to photograph, your technical ability, your advice/instruction, and your ability to always make things fun.  Spending some time with you and seeing the amount of effort, time and processing that goes in to capturing your images was an eye-opening moment for me.  It was an awesome experience and I am already looking forward to next year’s workshop.  Thank you again for everything.
